Recognising human trafficking – working together to provide protection and support

Professionals in social, medical, governmental and civil society sectors, for example, play a key role in identifying and supporting victims of human trafficking.

Often, it is small clues, uncertainties or indirect signs that indicate possible exploitation. A trained eye and knowledge of the appropriate contact points are therefore essential.

Our aim is to enable all those involved to act with the greatest possible confidence when they have suspicions. Self-determination and strengthening the rights of those affected are our top priorities.

The Bavarian Anti-Trafficking HELPline supports you with:

  • Expert advice and case discussions in cases of uncertainty or concrete suspicion.
  • Networking and cooperation with specialised counselling centres.
  • Information materials on identifying characteristics, recommended actions and support structures.
  • Raising awareness of the specific problems faced by victims.

Our goals

  • To make it easier for victims to access protection and support.
  • To raise awareness of human trafficking and all forms of exploitation.
  • To enable professionals to recognise signs of human trafficking and respond appropriately.
  • To facilitate cooperation between authorities, specialist agencies and civil society organisations.
